Forums - Gaming - IGN Review - Stars Wars: The Force Unleashed. 7.3 (PS360) OUCH!?

Well Im waiting for the Wii Review which I think will score higher.

IGN Ratings for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3)

  • 8.0 Presentation
Mostly great cutscene work that holds up a nice story. The upgrade options are good, but having to load the simple menu is a pain.
  • 8.0 Graphics
Some of the technical work is great, but it isn't used as well as it could be. Most environments look great, though some objects and bits of animation look a little bland or stiff.
  • 9.0 Sound
It makes use of the Star Wars sound library, so of course it's fantastic.
  • 7.0 Gameplay
Using the Force is great fun, but many of the enemies (and bosses) can be tedious to fight. Level design isn't very inspired.
  • 6.5 Lasting Appeal
The game isn't very long (eight to ten hours if you don't rush) and there's not a ton to go back for.
  • 7.3
    Decent OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

hmm.....gone off my buy list now.

Terrible review but love your signature!

The Wii version isn't likely to score higher if Bozon is doing the review (he probably is).

In that department - Gamespot continued their hatred of the Wii by grading the Wii version much lower than the PS360 version. Their rationale basically amounts to "lol waggle."

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

7.8 for Wii version. It's up now.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Wasn't really interested in the game before, and still am not...Might rent it since it's short, I actually enjoy shorter games since there's so many I need to finish.

Whoa. Maybe someone finally beat Bozon's ass into shape.

Either way, that Gamespot review for the Wii version is one of the worst I've ever read. You can read it yourself here: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/starwars2007/review.html

So much for the "OUCH"?

If you look at the scores of the games the wii version should be rated 6.9 and the 360/PS3 version should be 7.7, the wii version is also much shorter, so if you have all the systems, the HD versions are for you.
