An airplane crashed, and the plane's cabin is somehow full of dead people despite the fact that only the pilot and co-pilot should be in there.
Or its a normal cabin and the nearby lake had a "carbon burp" (when a store of carbon under a lake suddenly erupts), killing all animal life nearby.

Sorry if I was offensive, but I was kind of surprised, as I figured it should be able to do it in 2 attempts. As your best was 4, I thought that 3 might actually be great (or the best possible).
