Nintendo sold 518,300 DS Lite systems in the U.S. last month, the first time that NPD has tracked a game console as moving over half a million units in the month of August. The previous record was set when Sony sold 454,300 units of PlayStation 2 in August 2002.

another sign that the DS isint slowing down but speeding up. I mean were still a ways from the major holidays and its selling half a million.

And the Wii was just a few hundred short of breaking the record. I guess Nintendo has a much better August in system sales than any other companies has ever done according to NPD.

Now watch DS and Wii sales go up, August is probably the lowest month of the year (except for January when supply issues become evident).

 It was less than 2.000 units (less than 0.5%) off beating the Ps2 record, and that is in its weakest month this far in the year (due to lower supply), so you're probably correct.

It's some seller alright.
