Forums - Microsoft - 360 had 3 rings of death but its fine?

If you get rrod at anytime I strongly suggest taking advantage of the warranty and getting that replaced or fixed from MS asap. Really don't want that to start happening later int he fall with all the kick ass games coming out.

OMG.
That exact same thing happened to me.
Except mine froze while I was playing Gears of War LONG time ago.
I turned it off, got RROD.
Turned it back on later, and it worked!
I was like..................... "weird"

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

This happens on occasion it seems. I had RROD two months prior to it RRODing permanently. If yours RRODs once that means It's going to RROD pretty soon usually.

It's just that simple.

Ok but i the funny thing is there was no power surg it must be just like idk lol. Im just glad my 360 still going strong after these years ive had it sence lanuch lol.

Proud Owner of  a Wii and Xbox 360 and a PS3(When I get the money)

We had lightening hit nearby a couple of months ago while I was playing my 360. It caused a power flicker, which in turn gave me a red ring. Turned it off and on and all was well. Has never happened since.

Check and make sure your power cable is attached securely. Make sure everything else is secure too. Probably nothing to worry about, but if you want to be sure, just send it in and get a replacement.

power surge can cause that... even a small one... it's happened to me.. though usually lights blink or TV flickers... last time it blew my sound system and burned out my network port on my 360 and PC and they still both work fine... even though I'm mad that my gigabit port is broken!

Mine did that twice then played strong for 8 more months before getting the real thing. I moved from Idaho to Texas and I think the climate change did mine in. Did you have any graphical artifacts/glitching before it shut off? If so I would bet its not a power surge.

If you have to send it in I recomend doing it online. Its quick, painless, and easy. Much better than dealing with the call center IMO.

there is no more RROD in new 360.

Your 360 just have a near-dead experience. Tell it not to stay away from the light!

Seriously like other said, RRoD can be from variety of things...loose power cable, power surge etc. If you are not cosistantly having problems like graphical glitch, froze up etc., then you should be just fine.
