Forums - Microsoft - Rumour: Euro 360 cut to be announced next week

MS has had x360 out for 3 years now and when they drop price people cry desperation. Do any of you lightbulbs actually read financial statements to know what you're talking about? Highly unlikely.

Great move by MS. Console it a lot cheaper to make now than they where with xbox came out. It's logical that they reduce the price and keep the competitive advantage.

they are desperate but that doesn't mean all is over for them

Overall, I hope it is false ...

Time to Work !

In the UK the ps3 had to drop from a HUGE starting price point of £425 and it now stands at £300 (That means they cut the price by a HUGE £125), So i don't see how 2 pricedrops (one of £50 and now this one of £20/£30) could be considered desperate by microsoft, sure, 360 will have now had 2 price cuts but both pricecuts combined are still no where near the amount that sony had to drop the ps3 with just the ONE pricecut......... also, The 360 is approaching its 3rd birhtday so for it to be at the pricepoint that its about to become seems just about right to me

Money is very tight right now particularly in the UK, £170 for a 60gb 360 and maybe a game thrown in for good measure will be an offer that many will find hard to pass up this xmas

Thats a strange statement why would you not want a pricecut?

Didn't they have a Euro price cut in April just before GTA 4? 2 price cuts a year is a little desperate.

So is cutting 33% of your console's price a year into the race.

But lets face it, the HD console's have to do desperate things to keep up.

It's in damage to the PS3 and he supports the PS3. personally, I don't want it either. It could make Sony lose more money... leading to a weaker perfomance in the next generation.

So doesnt this now make the US, Japan, and European 360's pretty much all the same price? MS is now not over charging Europe like everyone else still does and people still call it desperation. LOL... People are funny!! Too bad that Australia has such a high import tax. They would probably have the price dropped way down too.

So why is MS all desperate and garbage because they are trying to have the same global price? I thought people didnt like having to pay more because they lived some place else.

Indeed it is, I wasn't trying to imply that Sony weren't desperate last year. Small correction though- £425 down to £300 is more like 25%, not like it really matters though.

I was referring to the US cuts.  Though in hindsight, the cross-continental comparison was probably unjustified.

Here in Australia though (PAL), the price cut was effectively 30-33%.
