Forums - Sony - Playstation Home presentation at E3

So what did you think of Home's presentation at E3?

My suspicions were confirmed - it's nothing special, it's not innovative. And those character animations sucked. The characters' rotation seemed like part of an introductory 3d programming course.

Honestly, I don't understand why they devoted such a long time to talking about Home in their conference.

Well, to me, the very idea of creating a program like Home is kind of off. This is actually what should be called a gimmick. It doesn't do anything that you wouldn't be able to do on a normal computer. If i remember correctly, Home is supposed to be something like a virtual meeting ground for friends and all. To be frank, that's bogus. Concerning graphics&animation, i really don't give a damn about that stuff. We never really needed anything like this before and i don't see why we should need it now.

Wondering

Fearing

Doubting.

Yeah I really got severly uninterested in Home after this E3 conference

I enjoyed it. Whether or not you're going to do a lot of things in home is your choice, but I'm excited for the network changes like grouping up with friends and all jumping into a game. Stuff like that.

Why do I have the impression it's a mixed of the Xbox Live servie and The Sims ?

It looks like Second Life, without all the things that made Second Life worth anyone's time.
