I've always liked John McCain...since I read Nightgale's Song (had to really for Naval History) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightingale's_Song), he's been one of my faves, along with James Webb, but fundamentally I wish he was an independent. It's amazing that he's the same republican candidate that was lambasted 8 years ago into a pariah state, and is now the glowing white knight for this very party. With that said, he really started wavering on his moral compass in that 2000 election, when he TOTALLY flipped on the confederate flag issue, and showed how his character could be bought for the fee of few more winning votes.(You don’t see the Obama campaign plaster him for this)
America is at a crossroads, imho and while Obama isn't some absolutely flawless figure to "save" America, he is the nominated choice of the party I believe can pull us out of this nose-dive and get America back on track. 2008 isn't 1992, and with the rest of the world rapidly gaining on us, we will need a leader and a administration looking to reconnect us to reality. When the VP nominee for the GOP doesn't know the Bush Doctrine right off the tip of her tongue, in her FIRST NATIONAL interview...WOW...when she's discussing possible (VERY LIKELY) war and nuclear war with Russia...WOW...when John McCain is 72 and fit, but still 72 and has had health problems....WOW. Scary...really Scary...when all guys are looking at are...WOW, the VP is hot and I want to f#&k her...WOW!
Alot of people on these boards might be too young to understand what's going on, but for those who aren't...the future is squarely in your hands. I've met VERY few who like Bush and where this country is going, so you're going to vote for the SAME PEOPLE, and expect something different....THAT folks, is the very definition of stupidity!
BTW, my "gut" (as much as I fear it) tells me McCain is going to win!
