Forums - Microsoft - Phantasy Star Universe

Ok.  Here's my story, for those who don't knoe

When Phantasy Star Universe was announced for the PC I pre-ordered it.

When it release I picked it up but at the time I did not have an internet connection. Long story short I never did get around to subscribing for it.

Now I have an XBOX360 and I am going to want to renew XBOX LIVE! gold for Fable II.  I also enjoyed demoing Lost Planet and may pick it up used at Game Crazy in the future.

It looks like the internet play between PC and XBOX360 is NOT interchangable, I'm assuming then that accounts would be treated the same way.

Right now I don't want to budget another monthly MMO for my PC, since WoW is now done, especially if I continue with XLgold.  SO using it for PC would probably not happen at least for a while.

My question to you all is: Should I just wait and install my PC version later (maybe 2010 considering WoW:WotLK) or should I pick up a used XBOX360 copy and "get my moneys worth" of XBOX Live.

You will still have to pay to play PSO online I believe in addition to Live.

Really? I thought with XBOX Live you didn't have to pay additional charges, like it's all worked in, or something.

If you have to pay extra for individual games (I guess outside of Microsoft games) then whats the advantage to XBOX Live? Seems like it would just be a ripoff then.

You only have to pay extra for MMOs.

whether or not it's worth 60 bucks a year is entirely up to the owners.

As one myself, I will NEVER NEVER pay for gold membership.

I used to play PSU... not for Xbox though but I'm familiar with it.

PSU works liks, PC/PS2 servers are the same, so PC guys account works on PS2's.

in your case Xbo360...

You must pay for PSU on top of live, the xbox version of it has the "real" weapons. Enjoy but I would wait for PSZero.

I'm planning to buy this game also. Just get the Xbox 360 version, otherwise I will wait for Phantasy Star Zero as dib8rman said..

Well If I have to pay the monthly either way then I should probably just use the PC version I already have. I guess I can still demo it to see if theres any reason to prefer the 360 version other than not taking up 11 + Gigs on my PC.

PC version would normally be the way to go, but the Xbox version has voice chat (sensored like crazy) and not as screwed up economy. Also your offline character doesn't work online like in PSO.

I haven't played it online in a long time. Still have an open account with them. I checked last month and 2 servers are usually full. I'm not sure how many people can be on a server at 1 time. Maybe a 1,000. So there may or may not be more people on the 360 version. When the game's demo first came out all the servers were full and it was hard to log on. There were only a few servers up back then though, now there are 20 or something.

360 Pros: Achievements, voice chat, XBL integration (txt through XBL and MSN, see what your friends are doing), play with people across the world.

PC/PS2 Pros: Can migrate your account across both versions.

keyboards work on both versions for chatting.
