Let's not try and let this degrade into a senseless thread about sales numbers or fanboys rants...

I am sitting on the fence on whether to buy this game or not...

On one hand I see it as the next big thing... On the other hand after playing Braid for a bit I think there is a lot missing.

I see the purchase as follows:

Pros:

- Infinite replayability through level design

- A really neat idea.  I see it as the next generation of a kind of puzzle platformers

- It will be interesting to see what others create

Cons:

- I don't want to make my own levels, don't have or want to spend the time required to do it well

- I like stories to go with the levels like CoD, Halo, Gears, Resistance, MGS, etc.

- Once I play games through. I typically don't go back to replay much because I have figured out the gameplay elements and it becomes boring quickly.

What are your pros and cons? (Again, please no sales or fanboys rants)

Is not wanting to participate in an optional feature really a con? Just because a cell phone has texting abilities and I don't wish to use them doesn't make it a con.

I pretty much agree with your pros and would likely add that the multiplayer seems very interactive and fun. To the cons, well maybe moreso a fear, that the filtering system may be somewhat lacking, I really don't want to download a 'Final Fantasy' leveled stealth as a penis level.

I guess for me it is a con...  There are lots of games wanting to get my dollars this fall/winter.  To me, the more I play the total game, the more I want it (assuming they are all deep in some way).

Just like a cell phone, I could go and buy the latest iPhone, but instead I just picked up one of the basic ones because I don't want to do everything it wants to give me.

Interesting though, I've read people's responses to the thread and I think I want this game even though I probably won't do everything in it, I think it is better then a lot of games out there.   Some really good responses in the thread.
