I disagree, I think a Rockstar with Japanese popular songs would do fairly well there, I also think Buzz with Japanese like quizzes would do well there.
I expect that with PS3 Slim.
the gamecube didn't have final fantasy xiii, a level 5 exclusive (developers of dragon quest!) and versus, to save it ass.
sony its not worried about japan at least not before 2009.
360 only have SO4 left, which is likely to get a ps3 port.

The GameCube had Mario and Zelda, the former of which is the most well known IP in gaming.
Unless the PS3 becomes something you can take to club scene, pirate games on or homebrew I wouldn't hold out too much hope on it doing the same.

in the gamecube era.
both windwaker and mario didn't sold more tha 0.89 millions in japan.
not a single final fantasy main series have sold less than a million

It's a pity then that the DS has Dragon Quest this generation ;)
