And online is something she has flat-out no interest in, so that knocks those two game's major selling point off.

What she REALLY has a "wet-on" for is good horror games.  I showed her Bioshock which she got into.

And RE4 is her favourite game.

I showed her an Alan Wake trailer, but thats still a year off and we know little about it.

I think if she plays online with you in games like Fable 2 and I think she obviously enjoys spending time with you it will improve the experience she gets more than any specific game for either system and  likely there are going to be some awesome multiplayer online games for her to play with you like Left 4 dead. It matters more that she has more friends to play Left 4 Dead with because its useless to get if you're going to play alone. You can even get her + a few friends to come over to your house and system link the two Xbox 360s so you can all play together. You should also consider games like Castle Crashers as well.

She can grab Bioshock etc for cheap 2nd hand or from you and a few other games to make the cost of owning the Xbox 360 far lower than owning a PS3 even when you account for the cost of Live. So I suggest she get an Xbox 360 60gb Premium and she can install games to take out the sound of the drive, which can be a distraction especially for horror games.

Lets be realisitc here.

Get her a Wii, or an iPhone.

-Starcraft (6,731 Post's on a gaming site) should already have a great deal of gaming knowledge rendering this thread pointless.
-This "girl" is very interested in fable , I couldn't even find a girl who knew what fable is. although it's possible it's more likely she doesn't exist.
-Starcraft is openly an XBOX 360 fan , "she" happens to be very interested in a 360 game. Go figure.

Future games have been pretty much covered, although Microsoft tend to be more secretive until closer to release date. We do know Rare have some undisclosed games in development, so hopefully a better Perfect Dark is on the cards. If she liked RE4, then GeoW2 may appeal more to her than LBP.

What did she play RE4 on? If it was the PS2 then she may prefer the PS3 because she will be used to the controller. Personally I hate the Sony controller because it is angular and seems to have been designed for aesthetics rather than ergonomics, but those that have persevered with the controller swear by it. I previously found the Nintendo analogue controllers very comfortable (haven't tried the Wii's motion controllers) but consider the 360 controller to be the best I've ever used.
