Forums - Gaming - Quick, I need help. Future games for Xbox 360 and PS3

I think the ps3 environment is more friendly to girls. 2 are among my list of friends. I don't think the online has as many annoying 13 year olds as xbox live. In my experience girls seem to like fighting games, RPGs (JRPGs especially), platformers and other random titles.

I would suggest she gets the ps3 because she would also most likely buy a HDTV in the near future and blu-ray just becomes a bonus! I hope her ps3 (hopefully) doesn't end up like mine though lol.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I should add, she wont be paying for live and doesnt play online.

I just mentioned LBP to her and she likes the sound of it.

I'm also discussing heavy rain.

That right there is an even better reason to get a PS3. If she for some reason wants to jump online she wont have to pay a cent to get online on the PS3. By the end of the year she will have free access to home which has a few free games and is social networking game.

360:

  • Gears 2
  • Fable 2
  • Lips
  • Left 4 Dead
  • Banjo Kazooie
  • Halo Wars

PS3:

  • LBP
  • Resistance 2
  • Motorstorm 2
  • Flower
  • GT5 (whenever it gets here...)
  • God of War III
  • inFamous
  • Killzone 2
  • Team ICO game (if their olympic schedule lasts, it should be out in '09)
  • Various Singstar games
  • Eyepet
  • Heavy Rain
  • MAG
  • Home (Don't know if that sort of thing would appeal to her)
  • FFV13

I will gladly admit that I am not that focused on the 360 library, so feel free to add any that I missed.
And then there are of course all the multiplat games, plus the games of the past and future unanounced games (bungie project, super secret game shown to BBC journalist etc.)

Wow wow wow where are the XBLA games ? What about the rest ??

If you are going to count God of War 3 than I suggest we can add Halo 4 on the list

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Not really mate.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Most (something like 80% at least) games in the next two years will be multi-platform. Tell her to look at each companies first party line up, then accompany her to the store to buy a PlayStation 3.

Would you include MS published titles in that?

Because once all the exclusives they are buying off third parties are factored in, the water becomes murkier....

Lol, you need to read my post and get your info right

The reason why God of War 3 is on the list, but Halo 4 is not, is that God of War has actually been announced, and is scheduled for an '09 release.

A friend of mine is making a decision between the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

She does not own an HD TV and wont be anytime soon.

In the event of a game-related tie, she will buy an Xbox 360 due to price.

I want a list of all good games coming to both consoles in the next two years.

She is fond of Resident Evil, Bioshock and very interested in Fable.

And...........GO

I must confess that I didn't read the whole thread before responding so I'm just going to go for the OP for now.  Of course with Fable, Fable 2 will be a 360 exclusive, and I would highly recommend a "higher end" 360 so she'll have the option to download the emulator for Fable 1 backwards compatibility.  Bioshock, let's not forget that the PS3 version will have extra content.  And RE will be on both 360 and PS3, buut here is where I will "go out on a limb."  As a fan of psychological survival horror, I strongly recommend Silent Hill 5 which is going to be on both PS3 and 360.  But I'm also a hugh fan of Siren which you can only find via PSN in N.A. or Blu-ray format via import.  Hope this helps some.

Well its hard to know what to say Mr Starcraft! For someone who was involved with her, you don't seem to know much about her gaming tastes.

Now if shes still a friend, then I would lean towards suggesting an Xbox 360 because friends which play together, stay together and you can share libraries etc so she can experience more of what there is to see without having to pay for it.

What kind of girl is she? Thats the important question. Does she have a wet-on for Marcus Fenix? Is her obsession the reason you broke up?

Haha. I broke up with her cause I'm not over my last girlfriend

She's great though.

What she REALLY has a "wet-on" for is good horror games. I showed her Bioshock which she got into.

And RE4 is her favourite game.

I showed her an Alan Wake trailer, but thats still a year off and we know little about it.

Okay, you just said "horror games."  You want Siren, and maybe the PS3 version of Alone in the Dark willl have redeemed itself from the previous versions.

Heh reading this thread is kinda hilarious... It's like an angel and a devil sitting on someone's shoulder fighting back and forth. I'm not saying who's who, just making an analogy.

I'm curious, what's the progress on her decision? She leaning one way?
