Forums - Microsoft - I´m really digging Tales of Vesperia, which is my very 1st Tales game.

I had never played a Tales game before..decided to try out ToV, and I´m enjoying it so far.

To the 'vgchartzers' who are playing ToV...what strategy do you usually go with?...moderate, full charge, or do you customise?

Also.....SPOILER ALERT...

I´m at Shaikos Ruins and I just got Rita, the offensive spell caster, in my party....would it be good to switch Repede for her?...or Karol?....it´d seem like a good balance having 2 melee fighters, 1 offensive spell caster and 1 defensive/supportive spell caster, no?

Do you recommend that in the strategy menu, I leave Rita´s target as 'distant enemies'?...or is it better if I switch to 'same enemy'?

I kept it as "distant enemies." You don't want her getting up close ever, for any reason.

And enjoy Vesperia, its the best of the tales series yet, and one of the best JRPGs ever imo.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I am like you. This is my first Tales games and I am loving it. I´m about 25 hours in, so I´m not gonna say anything not to spoil the story.

As for strategy, I use your balance Yuri and Karol as melee, Rita as offensive spell caster and Estelle as defensive. I use a very personalized Moderate for normal battles, but when boss fight comes I go with Full-charge.

"expects soriku to post on this thread"

Thats good, I have yet to play a tales game.

mM

well I would keep her on 'distant enemies' also

^_^' unless I would get another spell caster (offensive)

I would trade that one in for the second melee character

Magic packs more punch.. and it gets harder if you're the only melee character ^^"

meh...dunno if that was of any use

This also my first Tales game. I LOVE the story and characters but I HATE the game play. 10 hours in the game and I'm pretty clueless about the combat system. But overall I do like this game.

Skits, they're awesome. ;)

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Your 10 hours in and don't get the combat system? You should really try to read the battle manuals to understand the combat. The game play is excellent, and I'm very suprised you don't 'get' it that late into the game.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Everybody I talk to love the combat system of the Tales games.  Just not my cup of tea though.  I finish Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata with ease but I have alot of trouble with this game so far.  I will still play this game and finish it then move on to Infinitety Undiscovery by the end of next week.
