This will speed up the site and it will be less bloated with useless threads.
Just my opinion but I'm sure there are more http optimization benefits to be had from this.
Having locked threads won't slow the site down that much. It just adds bloat to the server and maybe a few database queries will be a little delayed. Besides, some locked threads have a lot of good content before the trolls and fanboys struck. :/
No way they will delete Nintendomination or I own a Wii threads. Bad idea.
