Forums - General - lip stick on a pig?

If he really did mean this towards the McCain campaign (it was directed at a specific policy, not any one person, if you see it in context) it would have to mean Palin was the lipstick and McCain was the pig if you think about it.

Either way this is just another stupid false outrage story that the McCain campaign is using to buy time and avoid talking about the dismal economy Bush has left us with, the mess that is health care or anything else that matters. Thanks for buying into that with this thread.

Anyone who takes this kind of controversy seriously is dumb even by pig standards.

Who cares, really. Even if he came out and said she was a disgusting pig, which I agree, it has absolutely no relevance on the policies and issues of presidency.

I can't wait for the debates.

It was a dumb comment that shouldn't have been made. Let's leave it at that.

Hi, I'm from the internet.  I'm afraid that's not what we do.

I find it difficult to believe that someone who is as good with words as Barack Obama would make a statement like that without knowing how people would see it as a slam against Sarah Palin; I think he may have underestimated how people would react though. In general, I believe the worse problem for Obama is he has been off message and making careless mistakes since McCain announced Palin as his running mate. I suspect this is because he expected someone else to be John McCain's running mate and he was not prepared for Palin ... As we have seen in the past, Obama is great when he is well prepared but not very good when he is responding on the fly.

Lipstick on a pig is a common expression, which Obama used to refer to a Republican administration. McCain is just pushing this so he doesn't have to talk about any issues and the media is running with it.

why republican party doesn't want to talk about issues? The polls are in their favor, they should grab the opportunity to take the lead once and for all, the only issues that obama has a net advantage over McCain is the economy. If they could scare the americans like george bush did before McCain is sure to win.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Because Obama isn't talking about the issues either.

In a battle of poltics if only one guy talks about the issues.  That's the guy that's going to lose.

It's best to wait for the debates.

Thats a really bad analogy....especially to be used in politics

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I think either obama was stupid or he meant that in a ways to mock SP... If it had not gone through his mind he is a moron who does not think through what he says... he does not strike me as that so I think he meant it as a mocking statement of sorts.
