I know DMJ can't sleep at night knowing the 360 is doing well, but we won't see the effect of the 360 price cut until September NPD. In August, I'm expecting another narrow win for the PS3.

I was seriously expecting more, about 2.5 or 3 times the sales. The cheap model is getting a 28% cut, while the PS3's last cut was only 20% ( $500 to $400), so the change in units demanded should be a LOT more w/ the 360.

Here is why I guess I was wrong:

-Only one model is getting a price cut
-The 360 hasn't been doing as good lately, so the change in demand might not be as much as could have been.

Also, be on the lookout for the 360 upping prices on the SW.....they might want to increase software prices if they are going to make such a big move but we'll have to see.

1.  Price cut - I didn't know that.  Seriously, how much are the other two models coming down to? 

 

2.  SW prices- Sony had to increase the prices for their SW after they went from $600 to $500 so I don't think that it would be too much of a stretch for this to happen to the 2nd place system, and you did see where I basically said that I didn't have any proof of this, didn't you?

mgs4 gave a bigger boom.

but the increase in sells it was known, but i doutb m$ is going to maintain it sales...
after 15+ million in the US sale are going to drop hard.

 Fair enough. Arcade is going down to 199$ as you know. The elite and premium models are both going down 50$ to 400 and 300 USD. The software prices arent going to happen. Sry I jumped all over you
