I'm not sure if I should vote for a lesser of two evils (Obama imo) or someone like McKinney.

I really don't want either Obama or McCain, but if I don't vote for one of them, I'm essentially throwing my vote away.

Man, you just summed up my thought exactly... What is wrong with our country? I know the answer; it's that nobody cares, but that doesn't help anything.... You know, one of the Founding Fathers (I think it was Ben Franklin) said that our form of government would only work with an honest and informed population. Today's America is neither. Not an encouraging thought...

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

But unemployment went down for 8 years in a row under Clinton. Democrats always handle the economy better. When people are afraid of losing their jobs, they vote for Democrats. When people are afraid of losing their lives or their wars, they vote for Republicans.

I get really tired of hearing this. Clinton had the luxury of being president during the tech boom. He had nothing to do with it. Right place, right time. Any president would have looked good during that period.

Before the tech boom, Clinton's economy was hardly the envy of the world.

With that said, I like ol' Billy. He got a blowjob in the Oval Office. He makes me laugh.

On top of this, Clinton changed a lot of regulations surrounding mortgage financing in order to increase home ownership ... The results of these changes was home-equity lines-of-credit and the housing bubble. The overall effect was (effectively) like giving the US ecconomy a $10 Trillion credit card, and people started taking out more and more money (producing false wealth and productivity).

People generally feel wealthy while they slowly increase their debt load, and they generally feel very poor when they've maxed out their credit cards and the collectors start knocking at their doors.

On the national level all politics and politicians are complete and utter shit. Pick your poison.

As I get older and older and older (now I'm really old) I find it odd that the electorate is still being fed the culture wars shit and finding that more palatable when I view it as light-weight under nourishing watery diarrhea; as opposed to the nice chunky peanut filled shit composed of issues and agendas related to the economy and the environment. Different shit for different folks I guess. Regardless, it is all shit.

My theory is that people are more inclined to prefer the type of shit that comes out of their own anuses (or pie-holes) and vote accordingly.

what are you talking about The Big O is totaling going to Give us the change we need, I mean how could he not
