Its been almost a year since rock band's release but star power doesn't always work.  for the fender stratocaster starpower just goes when it feels like it and and all the tilting in the world won't activate it.  and with my x-plorer guitar (the guitar with the gay, small back button thats impossible to reach without messing up) it will sometimes activate when you tilt your guitar but not always, (especially when i'm tryin to gold star songs or compete online against other people) i lose more matches against players that are'nt as good as me just because my star power won't activate when i want it too.  And its not the guitar, cause when i play on Guitar Hero 3 it always activates when i want.

I hope that they fixed it for good with Rock Band 2 or i will be sorely dissapointed!!

Despite what you think, it's the guitar. I have the Nyko Frontman guitar for the PS3 and it works perfectly fine with Rock Band.

Agreed, it's the guitar. It's a bit strange that your GH3 works fine, but it's still the guitar. My Les Paul and my Explorer both activate fine in both games. (On my Stratocaster, though, activation is so broken the guitar is unusable. Rock Band's instruments are garbage.)

I sold my Rock Band guitar but both my Xplorer and Les Paul work fine. My brother-in-law has two Les Pauls and one of them is very finiky for star power.

I thought it was just me. I'd raise the guitar and nothing would happen so I'd give up and it would go off randomly into the song. I hate the fender....

damn! time to sell my x-plorer and get a wireless les paul i guess
