Forums - General - World on Obama and 9/11...

So I'm rummaging through the barage of daily news articles today, and 2 new worldwide polls really caught my attention, but I can't really say that either one of them was a surprise to me...

First up... World Wants Obama for President!

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/09/2360240.htm?section=world

No wonder The Messiah saw it more fit to "campaign" in Europe over the summer than in the US, where, you know, people can actually VOTE for/against him.  I didn't know The One True Bringer Of Hope And Change was running for President of the World!  And after seeing him racking up some high profile endorsements such as Gordon Brown and the moron who hosted the MTV VMAs this past weekend, he can have them.  Note to the rest of the world... Americans don't give a fuck what you think... if we did, we'd be Canada!

Now for a doozy...

"No consensus on who was behind Sept 11, says global poll"

"On average, 46 percent of those surveyed said al Qaeda was responsible, 15 percent said the U.S. government, 7 percent said Israel and 7 percent said some other perpetrator. One in four people said they did not know who was behind the attacks."

"Respondents in the Middle East were especially likely to name a perpetrator other than al Qaeda, the poll found. Israel was behind the attacks, said 43 percent of people in Egypt, 31 percent in Jordan and 19 percent in the Palestinian Territories. The U.S. government was blamed by 36 percent of Turks and 27 percent of Palestinians."

7 years later and the world is still in denial... and you wonder why we never take your opinions and criticisms of us seriously!

anyways...i am actually surprised by the poll (second one) i find the numbers blaming Israel and the US rather low.

RE: Obama, well they were right about Bush. He should not have won in 2000 and really should not have won in 2004.

RE: 9/11, I would consider 46% a consensus. Plus you really can't blame the ME for seeing it that way, its not like their leaders and/or media (exception being Al-Jazeera) are very unbiased. Plus, I have seen some really good videos on youtube that put into question a lot of what supposedly happened on 9/11. Not, that US gov was behind it, but that they allowed it to happen for their benefit.

The government could avoid a lot of the conspiracy theories if they would just release all of the tapes they have confiscated of local security cameras and things like that. That would clear up the theory that a missle hit the Pentagon rather than a plane.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

yeah that's why usa is going down and nobody gives a fuck

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

People in the middle east countries are blaming Jews for something... eh.

The US pulling off 911. People who believe that are goofy. I mean... how could Bush be so brilliant in that instant yet so incompetant everywhere else?

I mean... if you want to say he pulled an "FDR" and let it happen when he found out about.  Sure i'd listen to that conspiracy theory.  Don't think it's likely, but it's possible.

Or that info came in... and they just didn't have it setup to act on it.  Yeah i'd say that's probably the most likely theory.

But to say Bush was some super mastermind seems a bit... off.

I forgot tomorrow was 9/11.

No need to attack the rest of the world all at once just because they're as stupid as we are over here.
