this is so 2006, and no one thinks wii sports is hardcore, just that core players can enjoy it. for hardcore titles see brawl, no more heroes ect

Not only that but i said there was no problem with it being a toy. that it was a great system and has a large following, one of which, myself, is a hardcore metroid fan....

Nobody was arguing about him calling the Wii a toy. It's him calling the Wii a toy and not the other two, which no one has agreed with. He tried to seperate the Wii and 360/PS3 into toys and the pursuit of realistic art. Guess which one is which.
Actually I think of the Wii as more of Video Entertainment then Video Game system.
Wii Fit has become a regular part of my exercise routine which would qualify it as more than a 'toy'. Since PS3 and 360 can not offer any such practical uses then could you not say they are the mere 'toys'?
Really, they are all toys. And yes, not all toys appeal to the same audience, the same goes for the Wii vs the HD consoles.
Anyone who doesn't think the 360 and PS3 are toys is tricking themselves. They're toys too. And it's not just about the fact that they're so underpowered compared to modern computing, it's the fact that they're inexpensive entertainment devices for playing video game toys.

In serious debate, the wii is more of a toy than it's counterparts. The 360 and ps3 have been working on bringing almost an unrealistic pursuit of "art" in games, whereas the nintedo has been working on having a fun time, not that fun isn't a great thing.... |
Oh please!! Art in games has nothing to do with the power of the processor or the polygon count. You can create a wonderful story using SNES graphics if the writing is strong enough it'll be art. Also, realism doesn't necessarily equal art.

Fernando and 11ht11, just because you think his opinion is ridiculous doesn't give you the right to repeatedly troll his thread. You've both posted six times now, and not one of those posts has been valuable in any way. Please stop.

btw not calling you a troll OP i respect that you dont have to like but this sounds like you believe there is no overlap between the audience of wii and the HD consoles. theres actually quite a bit
