runs away in fear of Metallica fans.

It wasn't...bad. But it certainly wasn't good either.

Load and Reload can fall into the not good/not bad realm but St. Anger is just awful.

Well, the album landed number one on Billboard! Woohoo! Also number one in a good number of other countries! It was released on friday so sales of 500,000 for half-week is amazing. I can't wait to calculate how much they actually sold in a seven-day period.

It's laughably cheesy and somewhat nostalgic. They're basically plagiarising off themselves from when they actually had talent. Still, it's better than St.Anger at least.

I actually liked that one song off St. Anger, the "F it all and f'n no regrets" I can't remember the name.

Also, Garage Inc. has some great songs on it, and that's no joke. Green Hell/Last Caress rocks that ass, there is no denying that, lol.

Anyway, yeah, they'll never be the old Metallica again. I just stick to listening to the old stuff now, a lot.

After this thread, I guess I'll give the new album a chance though. Metallica 4 Life at any rate. Their old crap still blows the ass off of pretty much any band since then, or before. In their prime, they were the best f'n band in the world.

Also, despite the severe load/reload criticism, Bleeding Me remains one of my favorite songs by the band.

One, 4 Horsemen, Fade to Black, Sanitarium, Battery....best f'n band ever dude.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

That's actually a lyric from one of their best songs, "Damage, Inc." It's from the Master of Puppets album and it's probably the fastest song they've ever played.

Fuck it all and fucking no regrets

Never happy endings on these dark sets

All's fair for Damage Inc. you see,
step a little closer if you please

Blood will follow Blood

I LOVE Damage, Inc. :D

Man, I've been thinking of getting this album. The OP swayed me towards getting it, but every post afterwards has swung me in the opposite direction. :(

@Zen: Indeed.  '80s Metallica owns so hard.  Easily in my top ten.

I'm actually still listening to this album on a fairly regular basis. It hasn't left my car (except to rip it to my PC and iPod) since it came out.
