 Dreamcast was godly.

I'm not derailing the thread, but it's well-known that Sony's PS2 hype killed the DC.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Great system, great games never owned it, played it quite a lot especially in Uni lately.

The DC is still the best shmup console.

Your rigth this three games are suberb specially Border Down and is incredible when you know that this game is made by only 5 guys

100% Mexican Power

Some of my all time favorite games are on the DC.

Record of the Lodoss Wars [very rare]
Shadow Man [rare]
Soul Reaver [rare]
RE Code Veronica

I also enjoyed:

Maken X [rare]
Beserk [rare]

Great console that was short lived.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

A very good console, and I too say SEGA's best effort.

Dreamcast sold about the same rate if not a little better as the ps3 (in the usa and japan...they never got a foothold in europe as they used shitty distributors). REason why it dropped out is cause piracy was going out of control, ps2 hype was killing everything and the fact that sega had no more money to luse (unlike sony with the ps3) made them drop out.

Would I be wrong in saying a lot of former Sega fans have gone to the Xbox and now see MS as 'the new Sega'?

you're not wrong...I can't explain why but MS seemed like a company to go for after Sega fell off the map. MS seems to have continued the online model sega was trying to accomplish...but there is more...I don't know what tho...

Just a guess, probably a noticable number of Sega fans found both Sony and Nintendo unpalletteable (after generations of bad blood), and so latched on to MS.

The Dreamcast is the best console ever made. It was perfect.

The controller was nice, the memory-card was crazy (for those who don't know, it had a tiny display on it you could play some sort of minigames on it)

I never had one DC game I did not like.

Shenmue I + II (greatest game ever developed, if you didn't play this you can't argue about good or bad games, because you never experienced perfection), Sonic, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Virtua Striker, Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi.... ah just to name these games puts a smile on my face.

Well I liked the Xbox, I liked the genesis, I like the Xbox360, I liked the SNES but the Dreamcast was on a whole new level. Online gameplay in 1998. This was sick, 4 years before Xbox Live on the original xbox started.

theoretical supporting HDTV... Come on, HDTV in 1998? That was insane. I didn't know about it, just read it these days. Crazy shit.

The DC was released November 1998 in Japan.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

A ridiculously awesome console I never had the ability to own :-/

But I always knew the games were superior to my PS1 and PS2.
