Forums - Gaming - Game Informer Bias - CONFIRMED!

You do realise that using a ten-game sample is way too low to draw any meaningful statistical conclusions from, don't you?

He's right.  Do this again, but increase the sample size to 30+ - I'd really like to see the results of that (no, seriously!).  In fact, if you have the raw data available, we can test for statistical significance in the results with a larger sample.  Of course, it's critical that you make sure the samples are randomly selected.

Your point is right :) (But your signature REALLY annoyed me).

I 2nd all of this! Specially the sig part...

GI is super biased. Ive actually read reviews of multiplatform games, and the Wii version was even said to play better than the rest, but got much lower scores simply because it wasnt HD.

It is all over the place, dont be so selective.

Offcial nintendo mag gives wii play 91 !!!

average score for wii play.... 58 ( only two others scored it above 70!)

now that really is biased

Funny.  I agree GI is biased but almost every magazine is.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I couldnt care less about those magazines, with bunch of fanboys that desire to be journalists.

@kowenicki, yes but you do expect a Magazine like ONM or Official Xbox magazine to be biased towards those products, game informer should adopt different approach.

Maybe they just don't like wii games. Big deal?

EGM is the online magazine were I read and semi trust the reviews. I make sure I get 4-5 reviews of a game. The key is to read the review not just look at the number. If it reads like something I would like and gets a 6 that means it may be a 8-9 for me. My favorite thing is the demo!! If it has a demo thats a good sign and then just play it that tells me more than any review

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Then they shouldn't be reviewing them. A journalist that does reviews needs to go at things with a neutral stance. Disliking a game for the fact that it isn't in HD is not a neutral stance. Plain and simple.

All Magazines are by and large cogs in the industry's well oiled machine, and as such should be seen as tools of the corporations.

gamestop is actually getting getting better at wii news. yes its really behind the times but at least its got games like madworld, wario land and house of the dead up thier
