Its sad that people complain about game reviewers not reviewing rpgs properly but gamers do it also. 2 hours into one of the most epic games ever made and your already complaining. Remember Final Fantasy VIII? People that actually played through it will tell you it is so much better that Final Fantasy VII but it was much harder to get into. It is such a great game. |
I finished FFVIII and right now it's tied with XII for worst FF evar (and don't count bastard games like X-2). And while I agree that nobody should review a game like this based on 2 hours of play there is absolutely no harm in giving impressions. I've played more than any demo length for the game would be so I should be able to get some thoughts about the game.
And I still completely stand by a game shouldn't take 10 hours to get good. While FFVII wasn't my favorite game, it was good and it did a good job of keeping you interested from the very beginning.
What did LO? It threw me into the middle of an epic battle which was cool until I realized all those enemies couldn't do jack shit to me and I just spammed the action button. That machine was almost cool because at least I had to alternate so that was a nice little change. Then what did it do? It threw text at me for an hour and a half.
And I'm more or less fine with that because it is an RPG. I expect that. It just didn't do a lot to keep me interested in the game especially when the main character at that point is a giant ass. He may get better later on but I'm not there yet, I'm at the point where the game should be trying to grab my attention and he's still an ass.
