Forums - General - Patriots: Brady's knee requires surgery, to be placed on IR

Well it's finally official, the Patriots announced today that Tom Brady's season is over.  Obviously this is massive news to the NFL world and brings about a bunch of questions.  What I don't quite understand however is when they say this is a loss "for all NFL fans," as if Brady is some kind of universal idol for all.  I don't hate Tom Brady and I think it's terrible that he is injured, but to put Brady on such a pedestal is a bit insulting for fans of other teams.

Yes he is the best player but I think the sports world (especially ESPN) takes his worship a little too far.

Should have been on Madden... then at least he could blame it on the curse...

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Don't worry. I'm sure it's not too late for something to happen to Favre.

I don't absolutely hate the guy, but I can't feel anything but happy over this situation. This simple turn of events just made the AFC very exciting to watch this year as opposed to the back and forth nonsense between the Colts and Pats over dominance. Now the Jets and Bills stand a fighting chance and it'll let the Chargers and Steelers to show what they're made of. My current prediction, Jets or Chargers in the big game.

The Cowboys looked very good yesterday.  They would probably have to be the favorites now to win the super bowl.

It's almost a shoe in that the NFC Super Bowl contender is coming from the NFC East. Cowboys look the most rosy, but the Giants and Eagles are looking very good themselves. I expect at least one wildcard, if not both to come from this division.

That kind of sucks... but I bet you they don't forget to put effort in their second from now on :p

This will make the season interesting... Go Pats!
