I looked at the first three weeks of sales for the Wii and it's less than the PS3 and falls well short of the Xbox 360 version in sales, we all know about the Wii legs, etc. What I found interesting is when I looked at the first three weeks of sales for last year's Madden game on the Wii.

Madden 2008

Week 1- 74,421

Week 2- 28,116

Week 3- 20, 738

Madden 2009

Week 1- 159, 235

Week 2- 69,904

Week 3- 40,254

As you can see, the 2009 version so far has been outselling it at a pace twice that of the 2008 version. Think this year's Madden should have no problem hitting a million and I expect it to reach nearly 1.5 million. This should hopefully bring more sports games to the Wii as well prove to be another example of 3rd party success on the Wii...even if it is just another Madden football game.

It deserves a success I got it a Week ago and it's extremely fun, people that know nothing about American football played it with me and because of the All Play Scheme they quickly got into the game.

Graphically it's nowhere near the 360 version, but it's great that this game has something else to offer. Call Your Shots is great to execute some nice plays, and adds element of Improvisation, 5 on 5 is great when playing with friends.

Also the all play controls are only optional and can be changes so people that want a bit of a challenge can also enjoy it. It will sell overa million, 08 version had incredible legs, this years game is simply better in every area, plus it does offer a lot more options especially for those that never thought about playing madden, or started their interest in football.

I guess this one won't oversell 08 version.

Of course its outselling the previous version.....the wii userbase is bigger

For the record, Madden hasn't sold a million copies on a Nintendo platform since the N64 and both Madden 07 and 08 on Wii already outsold all efforts on GC.

I think sports titles on Wii have dramatically improved in sales over their GC counterparts.

I'm expecting Madden, Tiger woods and Pro Evo to all break a million with their 09 counterparts.

Yeah its a ctualy a really fun game to play. Its also prophetic. I was playing against the Titans and Young had gone out with a knee injury for 4 weeks. 5 days later, in real life, Young goes out of the game yesterday with a knee injury - for 4 weeks. How weird is that?

Something I did find interesting about the Madden sales is that Madden has been released in "Others" but absolutely no sales are listed for it. Just a huge 0.00. Does that indicate that virtually no one outside North America has bought the game or that it just hasn't been tracked at all?

I got this at launch in the UK. I am loving it I have not had a NFL game for many years. It is great fun I have not played another game since I got it. It will be interesting to see how sales go I think it will hit a million. I think most people who own 2 consoles will get it on there HD unit though.

PS can anyone tell me how to turn of the celebration? I don't need it on and I deleted my first play through just to learn the draft part of the game and can't find the off button this time.
