Forums - Microsoft - No price drop? Does Microsoft think Sony is a joke?

"No surprise at all. If 360 sales fall, then they will consider a price drop."

==> it is already the case ...
If you re right the price drop will come in few weeks .
what about Falcon ?
Microsoft didnt try to mention their Falcon project that was suppose to ameliorate Xbox360 satbility and cost ?

Time to Work !

My prediction was correct until now... lol

 ..........
^Click on cards to level'em up!!!^ =D

360 sales have been falling since January

January 280K
February 220K
March 199K
April 174K
May 154K

And Sony has just reduced the PS3 price .......I think this is a good moment to drop the price .If they dont do it is because they cant or they are blind but if they dont do it it can be too late ...

The last week was the lowest 360 sales yet at like 34k...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

i thought MS would have dropped by now. However, i also figured the 65nm chip would be in use by now. They will do both at the same time.

So now all you big money spenders have a choice.

$480 360 w/ 120g drive and many good games.
or
$500 PS3 w/ 60g drive and bluray.

hmmm. idk. If I had a hdtv, then ps3, else 360.

I think they will drop the price with the release of falcon (the fix of the RRoD). Why should they know? To sell more consoles and repair them later?

How much money they "put back" for the RRoD just for FUTURE costs of 1 year more varranty? $1.2 Billions? Something like that? How many consoles will be sold, before the problem is fixed with a new hardware revision? Lets take a guess... lets say 15 Millions? So the FUTURE cost of 1 year more warranty for each console would be? Well my calculator says about $80. If the $1.2 Billions is only for RRoD in the third "life year" of each console, guess how much for the first two.

So i say, no way they drop the price now. It's simple to expensive. But they will drop the price if they fixed the problem (with a new HW revision). And i think it will come soon.

Hell i say, without the RRoD they would have made a profit last fiscal year.

Some of you guys are funny, thinking MS should drop the price right before the massive sales that Halo 3 will bring. Clearly you all think MS want to lose a ****load of money to defective units as well as eliminate their chances for profitability this year. Yeah, that's be real bright of them...

I'm obviously not the first to say it in this particular topic, but MS wants to save that cut until Thanksgiving. That gives them maximized Halo 3 profits without giving an inch to Sony in the season that counts. Sony's gonna have a damn hard time cutting again for Christmas, after all, and by then MS should have 65nm chips in their machines.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I think the fact that the elite is now only 20 bucks cheaper than the ps3 which comes with a blu ray player is pretty fuckin ridiculous for MS.

I Think the fact that the PS3 has a Blu-Ray player in the first place is pretty fucking ridiculous.

Seems to be working for Sony, though, since they've pretty much eliminated HDDVD and aren't out of the console race yet.

Yeah it seems they made the right choice for media... i just thought the PS3 was a game console...
