On the first link you can view the top 10 and the total minutes so far today and then the second link is the Spore page with the graph of hours played so far.

Well, Spore seems to be doing pretty well seeing as it is now the 5th most played game on the site for today and so far 17,617 XFire users have registered hours with the game.

I guess it was expected that Spore would do well but I found that I should report on the results for Xfire because even though XFire isn't anywhere near close to the total PC gamer population but it can be used as a good sample of the PC population.

The only problem with the XFire sample of the PC population is a majority of the active users are hardcore PC gamers and I am sure Spore will have a large percentage of its users be casual gamers.

Spore is going to get an incredibly insane amount of sales. It will be in the top 10 for pc for years, just like the Sims.

The fact that its being represented well in hardcore circles bodes well for spore as it was always going to get sales in the more casual areas of the markets.

Spore is like The Sims on crack + a little hardcore. That's a recipe for success right there.

I've watched some of the videos that people have posted on xfire and I really want to get this game.

I tend to be more of a hardcore gamer and play FPSs and RTSs but I've always liked the Sims and SimCity and this game looks way better than both of them.

It is, It has a little of evertything for everyone, and since I love RTS,RPG,FPS the most this is godsent, little doses of each all in the same game while not as in depth.

The creature stage looks really interesting to me. I wish they would have it so you can control an individual creature like that in all the stages so you could explore new planets you discover and stuff like that.

Yeah, I was hoping I would be able to get off my ship and all to interact with people and stuff from lower stages. I made a great War of the Worlds tripod thing just so I could walk around and shoot lasers at tribes and stuff, but I guess I can only hover and shoot lasers. It's just not the same

Well, we can always get lucky and they will add it in an expansion pack. Will Wright is known for having lots of expansion packs for his games.

Do we really need expansion packs to this game? Seriously, it's big enough as it is, then again it still isn't big enough to my liking. SPORE Universe coming soon!
