Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 Arcade BC?

So you do need the hard drive for b/c? Weird.

That's brutal. :( Well looks like I might be looking at getting a Pro. Though $100 for a 60 gig = rape. :(

You need microsofts own HD which cost an arm and a leg. if you want a HD then the arcade is not for you , get a PRO.

LOL. How many times am I going to post this?

Do a search on eBay, a 20 gig HD for the 360 DOES NOT cost an Arm and a Leg. It costs $30-$40 shipped on eBay (look at completed auctions). Sell your 512 mem card on eBay (that will net you $16 or so after ebay fees) for a grand total difference of about $15-$20 making your 360 arcade with 20 gig for about $220. Don't forget the HDMI cable on Amazon for $7 or less shipped.

It's just that simple.

You can get the arcade and pick up a 20g on e-bay, craigslist, ect, for between $20-30. This puts your arcade at $230 with BC. MS will send you a disk for free, or you can just go on Xbox.com and burn the B/C files straight to a CD and pop it in the 360 for free also.

Still saves you $$$. I had a 20g for a longtime before I got my Elite and it had 43 arcade games, 14 hours of music, video, including B/C on it, all my saves, and still had room. I wanted the larger drive for the full game downloads and netflix. But for you, 20g should be plenty good, and plenty cheap lol.

20GB HD can be picked up 2nd hand for £30 delivered in the UK...

Whats the problem...?

Relative to the price of a normal 20GB hard drive it does cost an arm and a leg, and 20GB is actualy pretty small.

Small for what? Porn?

I had a launch unit with all the extra content and 30 cds worth of music and I still had 3+ gigs left of space.

Why would it be weird, original Xbox has a hard drive so naturally you would need a hard drive to play Xbox games... what is so confusing about it?

how is it 'weird' the original xboxes ALL had harddrives and that was taken into account when developing games, so 360 needs one too. It also stores the entire xbox 1 dashboard/etc into it if im not mistaken.

Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.

I'll give you fair warning though. Fable sucks when played on 360.

Panzer Dragoon Orta isn't bad. It may be very well worth your while to see if the titles you are expecting perform well when emulated on 360.
