Doubtful, I wouldn't think they'd ask Microsoft to let them go just so they could be bought out by someone else.  I'm pretty sure Bungie just wants to be independent.

Maybe they'll buy Studio Archcraft.

>.< Joke killer.

But I shouldn't be talking, I do that plenty.

But really, I dont know if Square should be trying to acquire more companies, for the health of the industry. It seems the larger a business is the less they care about the consumer.

Hopefully no one will hate me too bad: this being my first post in the forums. I love Square, but they have used and abused the Final Fantasy name too much recently. I remember when a Final Fantasy game came out you knew it was going to be great. When Tactics first came out on the PS it was a novelty and fun to have the FF name used in another game series now it is out of control.

Square needs to clean up themselves before purchasing more companies. I don't think they have the appeal that they had 10 years ago. They may be making more $$$ now, but that excitement isn't around any more for their games except for Kingdom Hearts and the next *real* Final Fantasy game. Maybe I am just jaded because now RPGs are common place in the marketplace and they don't stand out as much any more.

Now it would be cool to see Square Enix and Sega team up and make a new console... Oh the dreams we have....

That would be hilarious and quite a middle finger to Tecmo.

If they are looking to buy another company it seems like a logical step to buy a Western company to expand there market outside Japan.
Would love to see them buy Rare and get some quality Rare titles again, but I know that won't happen.
But seriously I don't have a clue who they would look at, I would think a dev that made more western style action/rpgs that seems like a logical broadening of their game library.
