Yeah, saw that "grey" 360 - hope its a cheaper core model. If it gets cheap enough, I'll have to consider it.

I still dunno how they can make an even cheaper version than the core, the core needs a memory card to work will this 'cheaper' version come with like no controllers that you need to buy to play games?

Very confusing all these SKUs at the same time from MS...

Exactly. I don't see how they can drop the price below the Core. There's nothing left to strip out of the system.

Exactly. I don't see how they can drop the price below the Core. There's nothing left to strip out of the system.


 So a more expensive SKU? with an HD DVD player? That would be suicidal. Countering Sony's price cut with a more expensive 360. The only logical thing is a Halo 3 limited edition version or something of that sort.

They did make inference that they would be taking Nintendo on more strongly, and moving into the casual market. Maybe the grey IS the core - they are now colour coding them by SKU? Or maybe its just a new colour.

Someone also suggested a core could now have a 20Gig drive by default - allowing developers to assume a hdisk is present, and encouraging people to jump online.

The Elite should stay as the "top" model. I like the model of selling HD-DVD (or other) drives as an add-on. They could extend to BluRay if required down the track.
