XII.

It's a bastard as far as the Final Fantasy franchise goes, yeah, but it's sort of a spiritual successor to Ogre Battle which makes it better than any other FF except for maybe VI.

I recommend it. The writing is excellent.

Man, I tried FFXII twice and I just couldn't get into the game (both times putting about 16 hours into the game).  I never tried Ogre Battle so who knows, maybe that's why I hated it.  >_>

Well, hey, different strokes. FFXII (like VIII, I guess) is a pretty polarizing game. I guess I should feel lucky that I love it so damn much.

Just ran into Aeris. I can't get over the translation for this game - it's as if they translated different parts of conversations out of order. Everything feels so damn disjointed.

Dude...you are going to love this game. For me (the first time), the game picked up at the Shinra building.

No, I'm under no illusions - as I said, I've seen the whole game, and for Final Fantasy games it would rank very near the bottom. It would need a rewrite for the entire script before I could take it as seriously as I did, say, FFIV.

FFVII is alright but personally I think Tactics, VI, XII were better.

About missable Materia in Midgar... the Elemental one. When doing the puzzle in the Shinra bldg (with mayor domino) try to get the anwser on your first attempt. Save before you do his puzzle. This materia is not the only one in the game - but you might need it soon.
