22m seems a bit high to me. That would be a phenomenal holiday season if it hits that number. At $399, I have a hard time seeing it happen.
Assuming even modest growth over last year, 20m is a conservative estimate, most likely closer to 21m.

Let's throw some numbers out there... lets say the 360 only sells an average of 120,000 per week for the rest of the year. There is 18 more sales weeks on VGchartz left until the end of the year. So 120,000 X 18 = 2.16 million. That leaves us with 370,000 left to reach 2.53 million. This is without factoring in the holidays or even the price cut.
The Sony fanbase on this site grows larger each day I swear.
Does anybody else think this is a horrible prediction? And if you made these predictions on the current poll, please stand up and explain yourself. |
Why would you use 120,000 per week as your sales per week? For the last 3 weeks 360 has adverages about 102,000 a week. If you use 105,000 a week x 18 then 360 comes up about 670,000 short.

Because you have common sense.
All you do is look at last year and see that 360 sold 4.5 mill from September to December at a higher price than this year. Now the system is $50-80 less on each model with a bunch more games, at the very least it will do the same 4.5 mill area or even more. Even in most months earlier in the year the 360 was selling higher year over year without any pricecut. Based on the past, I'd think it would sell more next year also, since it may finally reach a mainstream price for it's main system (60 gb) and have peak sales.

I think I voted 22 and 25 for the ps3 and 360 polls.
The predictions in my sig were made back in either January or February, and all three are looking to be pretty low. :(

360 will be at 26 mil by the end of 2008 why, simply put has the best lineup and all genre's covered. something the other systems dont have. i dont see why ppl think lbp is going to be so huge, its a nice idea. but it wont bring in the casual crowd, they want something to play now and not something u have to spend hrs putting together to then play. ps3 will be around 19 mil at the most. and the wii if supply can be put out their, probably at 38mil. also kratos cant hold a candle to link, not even in his best day.

Something that can be played immediately, like the dozens of levels that will come with the game, or the hundreds that will quickly be created by those who DO want to do so?
As for the Wii -- you seem to be predicting only 6.25m for the remainder of the year, when LAST year's equivalent was more like 7.9m and production has been increased!

I though i was the only one that noticed it, think that the X360 will only sell 2.53m until the year is over is just stupid, i voted 21(PS3) and 26(X360) btw.
