Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they will be launching in Thailand yet. :(

It seems like no different then my own Japanese PS3 40GB version, except that it is 80GB. Or is it more than my 40GB?.. other than the fact that it is 80GB...

Flash card reader & PS2 compatible should be included at this price.. If it has IPTV, then I would also consider.

Else, I'll stick to my 40GB. Anybody can add another 40GB.

The reason why the 360 is not 'officially' released by MS is because of piracy plain and simple. But you can get an imported NA/JP 360 or Wii very easily in the 'underground' market as the bootlegs are rampant in Malaysia.

And at that price, with Blu-Ray games also going for a very high price and not piratable, the PS3 is going to be a very luxury good.

@Eagles,yup,we can import Xbox360 from Singapore, and the price are almost the same, maybe cheaper, but the main problem is,when your 360 was hit by RRod,you gotta send it back to Singapore to claim for warranty, and before you can claim for warranty, you gotta call the Singapore Toll Free Line and that line is actually only available to call by using Singapore number. That means, when your console is hit by RRod,you gotta :

1. Find a friend who live in Singapore with a Singapore Register Telephone, and ask him to call the toll free line for you.
2. Appoint a date with them and send your 360 to Singapore.
3. Go back to Malaysia and wait for further information from Microsoft, normally it takes 2 weeks.
4. Finally,a call from Microsoft customer service,go to Singapore again to grab your Xbox360.
5. Enjoy your recon 360.

Trust,i suffered this before, now i just seldom touch my 360 coz if it ever go RRod again,i gotta go through all this unreasonable procedure.Since SCE can offially launch PSX,PSone,PS2,PSP and PS3 in Malaysia,i don't see why can't Microsoft do the same but just checking for the Windows and Office piracy.

If look at the wiki
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3#Retail_configurations)
80GB is not much different then the 40GB. Only the storage capacity..
I'm not sure if there is additional upgraded hardware or software in 80GB.

yup,80GB is definitely the same as 40GB,just the Hdd capacity, but bundled with Dual Shock 3 controller with the same price.

Thanks for the confirmation stevechan..
So.. Flash card reader is not included! (hmm.. felt jealous the other country get to have it except asia and Japan.... damn! what a waste of space at the place where it supposed to be... this strip down version should be cheaper!)
How about IPTV? is it enabled in this 80GB?

And they said they will be focusing on S. America this year... when can we expect that?

Lets see, I bought my 40GB = RM1280, Dualshock Controller RM180.
(now I got two controller! one Dualshock!)
So mine is RM1460. Another RM139 is for additional 40GB to make it 80GB?
That'll make the RM1599 PS3 80GB. Hmmm...
