It's been almost 2 weeks since the new 80GB PS3 came out, and there were murmurings that it had the 65nm RSX but there was never any confirmation of that.

So, has anyone out there on the interwebs cracked open the new 80GB PS3 to finnaly confirm what GPU size it has?

I'm just curious because I have not come accross any article/blog of anyone cracking it open yet.

The new 80GB PS3 uses less energy than the 40GB. Something about the machine has changed, we just don't know what it is yet.

Yes I think it comes with the 65nm cell and 65nm RSX. I can't believe no one has cracked it open yet though!? Maybe I'll go buy one with cash, crack it open, close it, and return it to Walmart .

yeah of course it does, but so what....other PS3 versions have been cracked open.

Yes, and it has a tamper proof seal so Sony will know if you've opened it. You're unlikely to have a problem returning it to a shop though. I opened up my 60Gb launch model not long after I got it. Wasn't concerned about the warranty as it doesn't cover import models anyway.

if no one cares about the warranty ill just smash mine open! oh wait.
