Unless they can convince the 10+ million wow subscribers to buy PS3's, then no, PS3 will not be the home of MMO gamers.

First off, if you think that any console is ever going to be the home for MMO gamers, you are delusional. The PC will always dominate the MMO market, period. System customization, ease of UI modding, the pervasiveness of personal computers, and about 1000 other things ensure that no console will ever have even a moderate portion of the MMO market.

Secondly, Sony Online Entertainment is a black hole devoid of quality which sucks everything that comes near it into the abyss. Trust me, even if what some people have joked about actually happened and Blizzard ported WOW to PS3, Sony would find a way to release a patch that alienated 8 million of the players within 3 months. It'd probably be you and Arthas on a spaceship going to save the galaxy. SOE could release a free MMO where you could trade your in game gold for real life money and find a way to make people hate it.

And yes, I am aware that SOE will not be directly developing all of these games, but that doesn't matter. They are like the video game version of leprosy, get too close and you'll fall apart.

I believe it is implied that he meant the home for MMO gamers on consoles.

And for my two cents, WOW is unbelieveably overrated. Aside from the opening movie, which I'll admit looked easily better than anything I've seen on PS3, the actual game looked so bad in terms of graphics, I thought I was playing the original PlayStation only with awkward controls and very little fun involved. I played 2 days of the free 14 day trial and uninstalled and deleted World of Warcrap from my PC.

On topic, I'm definitely very excited about DC Universe online and the other future prospects of MMO gaming on PS3. Though I must admit I was disappointed when I heard Age of Conan wouldn't be making it's way to PS3. Although noone can say for certain what the future will bring. I'm sure Sony was surprised when they learned Microsoft had gotten their hands on FFXIII for an Xbox360 version.

I dont' hate the PS3, and i am pretty close to a loyal fan of the PS3, but Blade and Soul so far has been confirmed for the PC only... Though i'd LOVE to see Blade and Soul on the PS3 ;x

Judging from this, I take it you hate the Wii, as well?  The fact is, most people do not care that much about graphics.  Blizzard games have never focused on graphics - just look at Starcraft.  It's also funny you mention it has awkward controls, as one of the reasons it's so popular is because it's so much friendlier to "casual" gamers than most MMO's.

Also, we assume he's talking about MMO gamers overall, because he would not have mentioned "10 million" otherwise.

OT: Unless Blizzard is looking at developing for the PS3, the home stays on PCs with World of Warcraft.  I doubt any game can take its thunder any time soon, and if I had to guess what the next big MMO is, it's a safe bet to go with whatever Blizzard is cooking up next - which again, is probably a PC exclusive.
