This election means that Bill C-61 is dead and that's good. Non-commercial file-sharing should be legal and it's good to see that stay in Canada.

i just watched a clip with Elizabeth May crying that leaders of other parties were being sexist to her. i think that's bull shit and offensive. i have no respect for her now.

The Greens aren't getting my vote, but I still think May should be in the debates. Keeping her out just isn't right. It also elevates her and her party to something the others are scared of.

i would have supported her being in the debates before i saw her yelling "sexism".

I think she just wants some attention, that party sure does need it.

I'm currently watching Harper's announcement of his campaign platform. He, like most pan-Canadian party leaders, says a few sentences in English and then speaks the same sentences in French. Why then do the translator of the CBC (SRC in French) therefore jump in and translate what will be translated by the leader within 30 seconds or which was already said 30 seconds ago? It is ridiculous and insulting to the viewer.

Because normally it's just that the speech is broken up in to french and english parts. I know they overlap sometimes, but I hope he isn't just repeating himself. That would be annoying.

No, you can still hear the original feed while the translator speaks over it. I am perfectly bilingual (English household living in a city where 98% of the population is French) so I can tell that the politicians are repeating their speech word for word in each language yet the translator translates what they know was just said or will be said. Sometimes the translation is a little different despite the fact that the politician just said it himself seconds ago in the same language. It's silly. EDIT. Your use of "annoying" is very à propos.
