No PS3 Trophies For Fallout 3

Fans of little graphics popping up on your television telling you how good you are at the game you are currently playing are going to be a little disappointed when they pick up the PlayStation 3 version of Bethesda's eagerly-anticipated Fallout 3. In an interview with PlayStation Universe, the company's dashing Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines revealed that trophies won't be making an appearance in the game...at least not initially.

"Not at launch...It remains to be seen what we do down the road. It wasn't something we were able to incorporate into the game for launch."

Not all that surprising, considering the company's documented preference for the Xbox 360. Hopefully trophy support will be added somewhere down the line, but Pete sure doesn't come off as that enthusiastic about the idea, does he?

Man, I was actually going to pick this one up for the PS3 too if I did end up getting it (I'm still on the fence about it). Guess I'll just get this one for the 360 then, go go achievements.

And don't give me crap about them adding them down the road. I have the funny feeling it would be like what the did with Uncharted and make you play through the game again. While I completely understand and support that decision, I don't want to play through the game again doing things I've already done to get achievements (playing through and doing things different is something else).

See above post, I was planning on getting this one for the PS3 if I got it.  Despite what people think I don't have anything against the PS3 and actually want games to play on it.

why do i have the feeling MS is behind this? if they had time 4 achievements why not trophies? once again Bethesda screws us over 4 360!

So you're not going to buy the PS3 version because it's missing a feature that is really only a bonus? I like achievements too, but I'm not going to completely discard buying the Wii or PS3 version of a game just because they don't have something that's completely pointless. For shame, for shame.

And the reason trophies won't be included is because Sony has done as good a job convincing developers to include them as Tom Cruise has convinced the world that he's not gay.

Meh, after Oblivion I don't plan to ever buy another Bethesda game on a console.  Although I doubt I'll be buying Fallout 3.

Wasnt fallout 3 supposed to have Downloadable stuff on the 360 version? making it the superior version?
