As absorbing as the game may be (and it is, for at one point we booted the game up at 1:30 a.m., planning to play for a short while before we passed out. We played for what seemed like maybe an hour, only to discover the sun shining through the window, and the clock reading 7:53 a.m.), it’s best savoured and not rushed through.

Enjoy the subtleties of each individual creature, lovingly made by someone across the world, with its gargantuan testicles and a name like “milfmeister”. Explore each planet and reflect on just what a random-number-generator is capable of in the right hands. Spore will take you on a grand journey. It will make you acknowledge just how far we’ve come, and just how far we have to go, and Spore will change the way you think about the universe we live in.

IGN AU Ratings for Spore (PC)
RatingDescription

9.5 Presentation
Surprisingly small load times help keep the atmosphere extremely immersive, and the simple, easily navigable menus make the potentially-confusing creation process a breeze.
9.0 Graphics
Although exaggerated and “cartoony”, and fairly low-tech by today’s standards, the game still looks very pretty and holds up well under extreme customisation.
8.5 Sound
A mostly ambient soundtrack (which is also customisable to an extent) and very nice sound effects, but the Alien jibberish can get annoying.
9.0 Gameplay
A steep learning curve may throw some people off, and the controls aren’t as sharp as they could be, but there is surprising depth beneath the surface of a simple looking game.
10 Lasting Appeal
One of the single most versatile games ever made, Spore’s potential is limited only your imagination. The different “paths” are simply icing on the cake.

Cool. Here´s a question.

I played the creature demo in my PC. Now, I went to one of those sites that tests your PC to see with you have the minimum requirements and it said I don´t have it for Spore.

Will I be able to play Spore if I played the Creature Creator?

1 Gb RAM
Ge force FX 5500

That´s all I know. Where can I see it on my PC?

Right click "my computer" and click properties. It should show system Properties such as CPU speed, Ram and the version of windows you have.

Your Ram is fine.

Your Graphics card is really alittle too old now to play this game, it MIGHT be able to play the game but it's not going to be smooth or pretty,  you should be able to buy a cheap card that will play it if your low on cash.

I was playing it for several hours this morning and I found it disappointing. For somebody who plays a lot of RPG, RTS and TBS games Spore feels like a string of mediocre games. I understand that when you have multiple genres mixed then you will have to lose some quality, but they are not mixing any genres, they just put them in a line. You go from RPG to RTS to semi TBS.

I am not a huge fan of customization and that's the biggest appeal of the game, but i have long come to a conclusion that i am not the target audience for this game. Besides most of the customization is just looks, as long as you stick the right parts, it doesnt matter how ugly your creature looks.
