The book, it's the kind of book where no ammount of special effects and CGI can compete with what your imagination comes up with. Trust me, it may be thick, but it's a nice easy read, you will get through it in no time.

Individually they are only short, so if you want it may be easier to read them one at a time.

Besides, the thickness of a book means nothing. I have a 300 page copy of 'the colour of magic' and the movie adaption which cut out 70% of the book and that is 600 pages and takes no time to read because it is double spaced with size 16 font lol. As the famous saying goes, never judge a book by it's cover... or girth.

Really? I can tell by what I've already seen that the book must have incredible literacy and storytelling in it, but you make it sound like the book trounces whatever else I've seen... I might try to read it next weekend if that's the case.

Some books may look complicated to read when you skim, but you get so involved with the story that you don't notice it and it flows well IMO. In a weekend you may get through the first book. I read them not too long ago by the way.
