But was it the very next day? I personally thought it was a goner but I guess it just couldn't stay away...

That's unfair to compare them like this... Nintendo is only quicker because they don't have a lot of consoles to fix.

Mine made a juddering noise once. I dropped it when transporting it from downstairs to my room, with a disc still in it.... and when I started it up it made a loud judder when the disc started spinning. It stops once the disc is up to speed, and it did it 2-3 times more over 2 weeks, but it hasn't done it since February now.

I might have to do this, so a couple questions for you:
How long does the warranty cover? It's been more than a year for me :-/
And how much does it cost? Do you have to spring for shipping?
