I am really thinking about SOCOM confrontation, but I am still not 100% certain

Well they have the wet / hot mechanics.  If your going through water you will now cool your engine down allowing it to speed.  Also the vehichles are far more rugid.  In the first game, your cars would break like paper airplanes, this game gets rid of that.  The graphics, also, worth mentioning again, have seen quite an upgrade.  There is some nice terrain deformation.

Yeah, the Wii speak mic was there, I believe.  However, it wasn't in use.  What was really embarassing was how someone commented - "Hey isn't this like the PS Eye or the Xbox Vision camera only without video?"

I played most of all the games there.  I tried to play through each demo once.

No.  COD4 is a twitchy corridor shooter. 

Resistance 2 is a dynamic objective based, team shooter.  The experience system in this game will be used to reward players with new skins, weapons, powerups, etc.  There will be a class system as well.  The weapons will be unique.  Most different however, is that this game will not be a one two shot kill like in COD4.  The characters are more rugged so this game isn't an arcadey shooter, but one with depth.

Its up to you, however.  Two really different shooters.

I enjoyed it quite a bite.  You should buy the Qore episode 1 for 2.99 and participate in the Beta.  You might end up liking it alot.

I cant, I'm in Europe!!! Though I will certainly keep a look out for the beta. Is it similar to MGO (but slightly faster paced?) because I was thinking of playing that (I only played in the beta, but I never got round to playing the full game!)

No.  This game plays alot like a shooter only in third person.

Your Gears 2 impression is important to me as well since I'm most likely buying an Arcade just for that game, so can you please elaborate more? Are you basically saying it's the same as Gears 1 with a few more tricks and textures?

Good, I just found MGO way too slow.... Did you get any hands on with the customisation parts, or was it just using a generic character in a death match?
