Forums - Sony - PS3 Currently #1 on Amazon

Amazon isn't a good indicator of the whole market either. Walmarts and Gamestops are the real indicators. Those are where American gamers shop, for all we know the Amazon sales could be to international buyers who don't want to pay $1000 for a console in their own terretory.

Amazon doesn't ship consoles and games outside NA. At least not to EU.

Kber, actually you are right. But that doesn't take away from the first part of my statement that discount department stores and Game stores are better indicators. Also Wal Mart and Gamestop sell Wii's at retail price, where as on Amazon the cheapest Wii is $395 and it's not even a bundle.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Absolutely. I've just quoted too much. I was referring only to the second statement. Anyway we will know soon.

Some questions and answers:

Q1: Are the Amazon sales good for the PS3, is it selling well?
A1: Yes, of course.

Q2: Are the total US sales going to be as good as one would think when looking at Amazon sales?
A2: Probably not, because Amazon has a good promotion on the PS3 right now, probably better than any other US store.

Q3: When can we know what happened?
A3: Tomorrow, when vgchartz publishes the data for the past week.

That should keep this topic empty for a while, no?

I really wonder what we will see, I am afraid to predict.

Actually, Circuit City's free extra controller is a better deal.

Amazon is usually indicative of sales everywhere else but we'll see.

Day 7 since price cut (12 PM Pacific Time)

PS3 is number 1.
PS3 Blu Ray remote is number 2.
Wii passes PS3 controller for the first time since the cut at number 3.
PS3 controller is number 4.
Resistance: Fall of Man is number 11.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma is number 21.
NCAA Football 08(PS3) is number 37 [360 version is number 15, PS2 version is number 49]
The Darkness (PS3) is number 56 [360 version is number 40]
Rainbow Six: Vegas (PS3) is number 62 [360 version is number 61]
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3) is number 69 [PC and 360 versions are not on the list, but the Shivering Isles Expansion for PC is number 93]
Motorstorm (PS3) is number 73.

Love this update.  Doing this daily would be awesome.  Crazy to see Resistance back at #11.  That isn't bundled in any way from what I can see.

Those other software numbers are worrisome.  I'll probably be getting NCAA Football 08 but I'm waiting to see what the reviews are like.  I hope Madden gets to 60fps.

MADDEN IS 60 FPS for PS3 and Xbox360

but NCCA is only 30 FPS on PS3 and 60 FPS on Xobx360

The promotion of giving away 5 free Blu-ray movies for any Blu-ray player sold is sorta begging for a Blu-ray remote. And you get an extra movie from Amazon, too. So, Extra Blu-ray movie and a Blu-ray remote seems better, if only because of the promotion.
