Forums - Microsoft - 360 owners, how long are these games?

So i bought an xbox 360 elite on friday after selling my first one about two years ago because there wasn't enough games.

I absolutely love it and haven't switched my wii on since thurdsday night, lol, it'll be back on by the end of the week though cause i need to finish okami.

Anyway onto the point, i purchased 9 other games aswell as the one that came with it (transformers, which i'll never play, i'll trade it in for credit towards fable 2) but i don't know what order to play them in as i'm not sure how long they all last and i want to get a fair few completed before fable 2.

The games i have are....

soul calibur 4 -which i've played for about an hour

condemned 2- i've played about 3 hours so far

Assasins creed - played for about an hour

lost odyssey- played for 30 minutes although i don't want to get into it too much as i know it's a 40 hour game (3 discs!)

viva pinata - not played yet

forza 2- not played yet

blue dragon - not played yet

alone in the dark - not played yet

bioshock - not played yet

so how long do each of these games last, ideally i want to play the shorter ones first and i generally don't do a 100% on my first playthrough so i'm more interested in main story only.

cheers.

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Of the ones I've beaten:

BioShock - 8-10 hours.

Assassin's Creed - Took me about 10 hours.

Lost Odyssey - ~50 hours to do the side quests and everything.

Blue Dragon - Took me 90 hours for 100% completion on achievements. Probably could be beaten in half that, though.

Blue dragon, 90 hours, wooooooooooh baby. I'm shocked that bioshock only clocks in at 8-10 hours though, is that with all achievements or just main story?

All just best guesses based on my own experiences with them.

Assassin's Creed - Somewhere over ten hours probably. Depends on how much time you screw around, and if you actually bother with sub-missions and worthless collectibles.

Viva Pinata - This game doesn't have much of an ending, (It technically has one, but you won't really notice) so pretty much goes on as long as you want. I liked it enough to get every Pinata so I go well over 50 hours on mine. But it all just depends. Good game to play in bursts since, as a gardening sim, you can jump in out real easily.

Alone in the Dark - Probably around 8-12 hours. If you go for all the achievements you'll spend a lot more time in Central park burning Satan's crab grass so that'll add time. Some of the puzzles are kind of odd too and might stump you for a while as well.

BioShock - 10-18 hours. Depends on how you play, if you're an item whore and try and find everything and kill all the daddies you'll obviously take longer. If you don't care about that stuff you'll probably finish a lot faster.

Dont waste your time with Alone in the dark, unless you want to rapidly lose your hair lol, put it discreetly next to your copy of transformers and cash in on it whilst its still actually worth somthing in trade value

As for forza, well, the game potentially could last you months if you participate in all the races yourself (you can hire a driver which i did do a few times towards the end)

Badgenomes times for Bioshock and Assasins creed are spot on

Condemned 2.... hhhmmmm its ok but the origional is better, i think it took me around 9 hours to complete it

hope that helps a little

Yeah, the main story of BioShock is pretty short. If you go for all the achievements, especially the audio diary one, you can make it last quite a bit longer. Also playing on Hard and taking down all the Big Daddies (at least until you level up) is tough and fairly time consuming.

condemned only 9 or so hours, gutted, i'm really enjoying it and i actually prefer it to the original.

Is alone in the dark really as bad as most people say then, i really wanted to get  it for wii but i heard that the wii version was absolute pap and the 360 version was quite a bit better so i decided to chuck it in my basket.

About the assasins creed collectibles, i was looking at some of the achievements and noticed there's about 500 odd flags to find and i've only found two while i've been running around on rooftops, lol.

Alone in the Dark has gotten really mixed reviews. A lot of people hate it, some like Eurogamer appreciate it a lot for what it tries - and to some extent manages - to do. But apparently Eden is fixing a lot of the bugs and other issues for the PS3 release and plan to patch the 360 version to bring it up to speed as well, so you might want to wait.

And re: the flags in Assassin's Creed... they're simply nightmarish.

The controls are horrible in alone in the dark, its a slow and clunky mess, with a guide it doesn't take too long to complete, perhaps you could get rid of it now and rent it at a later date
