Wow.... her Husband has a DWI?

That's pretty....pointless.... and desperate for an attack against someone who everyone thinks is a shitty VP pick in the first place.

People must really be afraid that women are stupid enough to vote soley on gender.

I mean heck, this rates below "Barak Obama used to do drugs" story that nobody paid attention too.

I mean how many actual senators have DWIs?

A lot of senators probably do, and a lot of people in the country do as well.  I totally agree that this is a pretty moot point, and it helps that the McCain campaign is upfront about it.  Its just news, and this weekend Palin news has been a pretty big deal.

As I don't judge Palin or her husband on this issue I don't judge Obama for having done drugs in his past largely because they are upfront about it.

Dude, i disagree.   It really isn't news.  It's her Husband... and it was 24 years ago.  It's not even news when Sentors or elected officals kids get DWI.  Hell it's barely worth a blurb when they get DWIs while currently serving.

Which has happened several times.

I think it should be, even if it is a senator I like, whether or not it is a Republican or Democrat.  If you are in office and you do something like that, I think you should be held accountable.  That doesn't mean you should lose your job necessarily, but the public should be aware.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I'd agree.  While in office, or like... the last 5-8 years.... but sersously a relative.... 24 years ago?

Though you probably have to have hit a tree or something to get a DWI in Alaska.  They have very little police there.

The Obama campaign is best to leave this alone, going after it just makes them look ever more like the same politics.

The worst thing they can do is have Joe Biden go with the "Drunk Drivers killed my wife and kids" card like he did last year.

Cause they didn't.  Not sure where he was going with that last year.

Surprising nobody is going after him as well.  He's got a good number of stories like that.... that are actualy stories that mean something.

This tells me they're having a hard time finding real dirt on her. They're getting desperate...

Dang, I see the Obama attack dogs are really out in force now.

dudes why doe everyone hate that woman?

She kinda reminds me of Cammie Dunnaway.. they even look familiar!

Note:

The Obama camp explicably had nothing to do with this. The McCain campaign released this information voluntarily. It is unfair to accuse the Obama camp of bringing this to light without some evidence that they did so.

The media is as interested in this stuff as either one of the camps.

Its not that big of a deal, everyone here has probably driven buzzed or drunk at one time or another (which you should ALWAYS avoid, no matter what), but you were probably gonna hear about it one way or another.

I've never driven after having a single drink in my entire life, and I think anybody who ever has is a moron.

HOLY SHIT.

Yeah, this is technically news, but barely.  Not a dealbreaker in any way.  Even I don't care.  If it was her, I'd be pissed.  I just think her husband's a moron.

Am I the only one who is starting to get the feeling that the media has done more digging into Palin's background in 3 days than they have done into Obama's background in 6 months?

24 years ago driving drunk wasn't considered nearly as bad as it is today, and (even today) isn't seen as that bad of a thing for people who grow up in sparsely populated areas. I have known several people who came from small town Saskatchewan who never thought about a designated driver until they moved to Calgary ...

That´s so true. The media wants the Democrtas to win so badly that they are willing to let go of any intergrity they had left. Just turn their eyes away and keep praising him.
