You think it's worse to target someone who directly agreed to be in the political spector then to target someone who just happens to be related to said person?
Also, this story wasn't about anything you stated. It was about one thing. To make people think it was true. Anyone who wanted to know the truth could of did a quick check on the birth certificate. You aren't aloud to lie on that.
Regardless it seems like a moot point since the "Secret Mulsim" thing didn't seem to be a political ploy. But just something a lot of American's naturally think of Obama. I mean he still can't shake that image when his crazy christian pastor was on TV talking about how he hated America.
I guess it's the name? I don't know.... I never really think about it myself. I've got Indian friends and it took me years to one day just think to myself "You know what... they're probably not Christians."
Same with this one Jewish kid I knew in highschool. Didn't even cross my mind he was jewish until I was in college. Wasn't really a big deal.
If the secret muslim thing was a ploy though i'd love to see who set it up, just to dislike them. It isn't quite "black baby" matieral, but it's pretty bad. Wonder if it was a democrat, since it seemed way to early in the campaign for it to be a republican ploy.
Heh, it'd be ironic if it was someone from the Biden campaign. Few people went after Obama harder. Cause people bought it... really hard.
I mean... even Hamas thought that Obama was a secret muslim who was just playing up to jews for their "election money and votes" and would change his positions to propalestine and force Israel into concessions.
They've backed off that though... and withdrew their endorsement. Either they wised up, or "don't want to blow it".
The most ironic part is that under some interpretations of Islamic law Obama is a Muslim... though not at all a secret one.
His father was a Muslim, though one who renounced his faith.... which would make him a Muslim in some interpretations.

What I'm saying is, if that Palin story had proved true, the troubling part isn't the fact the kid got pregnant. It would have been the fact that they essentially falsified medical records. While they can check the birth certificate, because they aren't allowed to lie on it, the whole issue would have been that they went to all this trouble to get back to a remote hospital where a doctor was working that Palin was said to have helped get their job there, to fudge the medical records. It's not illegal for a teenage girl to get knocked up. It would be illegal for her mother to utilize connections to falsify medical records.
And the "secret Muslim" thing is indeed a ploy, just like the "black baby" thing. It shouldn't make a difference, but it does to a lot of people. It's neither illegal to have an interracial baby, nor to be a Muslim, but in all honesty, there are people who are disgusted by either, which is why political strategists will float those kinds of rumors out there. And just because you "don't see religion", or whatever you were trying to go for, doesn't mean that's the case for the vast majority of Americans.
And the "interpretations" that he's a Muslim because his dad (who, BTW had no part in raising him) was a Muslim is just ridiculous. Hypothetically, my mother's mother could be Jewish, and "technically" I could be "interpreted" as being a Jew, despite me or my mother never attending anything but Christian church services. Of course, anyone with any semblance of common sense would know that your actions, not your lineage, determine your religious affiliation. But, hey, whatever you have to do to convince yourself that the whole "secret Muslim" thing is just an innocent misunderstanding.
