It loooks like the 360 will hit that price point first.

360, wii has pleanty of card left to play (new colours, new models, bundles) befroe a price drop

360, the Wii doesn't have to subsidize suck like the 360 does so it can keep the price high.

In similar news you have to pay full price (or pretty damn close) for a BMW but you can get HUGE discounts on a Hyundai! Just don't expect it to not suck.

If the wii dropped to 150 before, say, 2011, the effect would be horrible. In order to get one you would have to camp outside a best buy for a week, fending off rabid soccer moms with a pointed stick and a torch.

The aftermarket (Amazon.com/Ebay) price for the Wii is still around 300$. They're not going to price drop.

The 360 might, but it won't do much good.

Looking at them

Wii is doing amazing at the current price, there is great demand for it. No need to change, before that they can experiment with some colours, with great bundles. So before they need it they might try something else so no.


MS trying to stay in the 2nd place, are slashing prices quite regularly, in Europe cheaper or this same price as the wii, still no where near in sales. I think they will be there sooner


Sony, well they are the ones that do need a price-cut.

Wii @ 199 just isn't gonna happen anytime soon. If anything, Nintendo could be raising the price. $99 Arcade will happen before $199 Wii, maybe sometime in 2010.
