I doesn't matter if the sales of certain games aren't as great as their 360 counterparts. The fact of the matter is that all those "big titles that make the 360 have the best lineup" can be played without owning a 360. Whereas the likes of say Resistance, you can only play on a PS3 or Mario, only on a Nintendo console.

2007. "The 360 has the best fall lineup of games" How many of those games could be played by me, a PS3 only owner? All of them except Halo 3, which will be on PC soon enough.

You know, it could be argued that MS is gimping the hell out of the PC gaming industry by paying for timed exclusivity for games which should be on the PC from day one but aren't, thanks to MS insisting they be on the 360 instead.

Thank god for companies like Valve who can't be moneyhatted...

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

That's priceless XD  Doesn't even know the name of the company he's complimenting.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

D'oh, Valve. :P

Sorry, I'm pretty tired as I'm typing right now.

I think there's a chance of seeing Bush named the greatest president in the history of the U.S before we see Gears 3 on the PS3. It would be hilarious if Sony dumped a shitload of cash on Epics doorstep before M$ decided to secure it but again, highly unlikely.

Gears 2 isn't even out yet and we are talking about number 3? I agree with Sakurai; I'm tired of the sequelization of the industry. Does a sequel have to be expected. Maybe this is why we see so few new franchises.

And could you name why MS shouldn't roll over the contract with Epic?

  • Gears of War sold well
  • Gears of War2 will sell well
  • Gears of War as a franchise is connected with the Xbox
  • MS benefits with a great exclusive game, which will definately be a system-seller next generation

It is a win/win situation I think. But who knows if GoW3 will be released on the Xbox360. I think this might come out for the next generation, Xbox3

same happen to FF13

and look. multiplatform.

ouch how that feels now? XD

Think Microsoft will do anything to keep it exclusvie.

And that's funny how they are ALWAYS chasing after PS3 exclusives but they wouldn't DARE let Sony touch Gears - IMO that's pretty twisted and greedy.

I believe the correct expression is "for-profit business".  I can't really think of for-profit companies that wouldn't like to outsell, overcome, defeat, etc. their competitors.  Where are these non-competitive companies?  Well, if they actually existed, then they would be out of business fairly quickly as the point is to make a better widget and turn a profit, not to show mercy and kindness to the competition.

Neither MS, nor Sony, nor Nintendo are running charitable organizations or console clubs.
