Forums - General - No Bounce For Obama

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/31/obama.mccain.poll/index.html

Either the convention flopped or Palin had pretty decent affect.

I am actually suprised after Obama's speech that was appartly so good Oprah cried her eyelashes off.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Wow, that's scary.
I thought Obama would win by a landslide months ago, now it's a tie.

Oh well at least he had a convention cant really say the same for Republicans cuz Gustave kinda took care of that

Maybe if we looked at a poll with a larger sampling size we would get better results:

Oh wait, that would just be too difficult wouldn't it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I love how everyone jumps at every individual poll.  It's funny.

Interesting. Obama's never bee in the 30's. He's always 40's and 50's. McCain's always 40's and 30's, and he's hit exactly 50 once. In January.

I dk about bumps. I believe that newly enrolled voters, who arn't surveyed, should give Obama extra numbers come election time. In fact i read that because of this he only needs to match Kerry's 2004 numbers to win. Is that right???

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I expected DNC bump but Palin I would think make alot of people go undecided because they need time to think and analyze what a McCain/Palin ticket means.

I also wonder if McCain taking up a presidential role during Gustav will have a possitive affect or the fact he not having a big convention will have a negative affect.

Does taking on a presidential role include saying shit like " take off our republican hats and put on our american hats". My god, that shit is amusing.

We'll see who gets momentum once the debates start.

BTW, I think McCain picked Palin to combat Obama's 'younger person for change' message. She is young, not 'tainted' by Washington politics, has a record of going after corruption, and wants to change the way Washington does politics (she's against lobbyists, pork spending, big business affecting politics, etc). Her being a woman was definitely a plus, but she wouldn't have been picked if it wasn't for her stance on these issues.
