interesting

I think maybe they rescheduled FF CC: TCB for Wii as FF14....

for a quick profit....before making FF15 for the nex gen.

I'd lol at that. I highly doubt it though :P I think the KH team should make FF XIV...just because they're so awesome.

I just want an awesome FF game for the Wii that looks like the FFCC: TCB trailer... *sigh*

Well I could argue that VErsus XIII could be what their vision of a true FF is....If Versus XIII is a success expect FF15 to be made by the KH team as lets face it FF14 is probably in the works

lets just hope that the FF12 team don't make it (just to prevent FF bashing...I personally liked FF12)

Definetely....

But the FF12 team are very underrated. Ivalice as an FF world is one of the best ones ever created.

It's seemed to have been like that ever since the PS era. Also it has already been confirmed that FFXIII, and Versus may have even started developement as early as 2003. I personally don't think SE has enough resources and money to be developing all of the HD and Wii games, but it does seem possible if FFCC does turn out to be part of the Final Fantasy series, and the other ones are handheld games. Then it might work out.

Edit: Also both FFXIII, and Versus were in developement for the PS2 before they became PS3 games.

They are one of the biggest developers in Japan, they got plenty of resources. Also, many of the games they publish aren't actually developed by them. SO4 is made by Tri-Ace and DQ IX is made by Level 5

EDIT:FFXIII and Versus were PS2 games? That's suprises me.

Really? Hm then how come they almost went bankrupt 3 times? It doesn't matter how big they are, having all these projects, especially with the HD developement costs, is taxing. They have tons of DS games in development, 3 psp games, Plenty of games for the HD consoles, and 2 wii games. Now if they are developing even more on top of that, how much rescources do you think they have left?

Yes but the budget of those games are no where near the budget the that CGI FF movie(the reason why they were nearly bankrupt back in 2001)

Individually no, but together they are probably around the same budget or higher. Wasn't the CG movie like 100mln to produce? I'm pretty sure FFXIII, and Versus alone make about half that cost. That is leaving out the other games.

But the games will actually make a profit unlike the movie

Yeah how are they going to do that when they aren't released yet? I'm just saying that right now they are working on too many projects.

How many projects should they work on?  If a smaller company like Tri-Ace can work on two big games at once and not  go bankrupt, I'm sure a huge company like S-E can work on 4-5 big games and still be afloat.

And how many are they doing? Lets see they have to pay for the costs of the game developement if it is their game, advertising even if they are only publishing somebody elses game, etc. So lets see how many games they are developing, I'm going to guess some developement costs, Final Fantasy XIII-20-40mln, Final Fantasy Versus XIII-15-30mln, Star Ocean 4 -10-25mln, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers-5-15mln, Kingdom Hearts BBS- 1-5mln, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 1-2mln, Final Fantasy Dissidia-1-3mln, Final Fantasy XIII Agito- 512k-2mln,DQIX 1-3mln and tons of other games. Why do you think they are remaking so much? Because they need something to gain profits. At first full remakes were enough, but now they seem to be going with enhanced ports(chrono trigger), and pretty soon it will be direct ports. I'm pretty sure they can't afford too many more games in developement. Especially HD ones. Also most of Tri-Aces games are published and/or owned by square enix, so they don't have to worry too much about Advertisement, and Developement costs.

See the thing that screwed them up was Matsuno leaving. After he left they only had half a game, then started to steal from other things, and it was a horrible mess. I'm pretty sure the game would have been much better if Matsuno stayed.

That doesn't mean the gameplay didn't suck. :-/

I completely disagree.....the gameplay was brilliant....imo.

Graphics were nice as well.....If i have any minor complaints its the story which actually thanks to Ashe, Basch, Fran & balthier seemed mature at times unlike some of the other FF stories (referring to whiney TIdus here)...but yeah the story failed to grasp onto you as it didn't flow well.

I agree about Fran and Balthier, but Ashe, and Basch weren't good characters at all. I was referring to the story anyway because you mentioned that. Also the gameplay was extremely broken. This might have been mentioned before, but if you use gambits it feels like your not playing, but if you don't lose it the game is too complicated. Also the battles were extremely boring, and felt like you did the same thing over again. Oh and I agree I hate how tidus whined so much, but I would rather have Tidus in my game than Vaan anytime of the day. The story was extremely boring as well. The characters barely interacted with eachother with the exception of Fran, and Balthier, and then the backstory was a total mess, and way to predictable. Also it lacked many things that I love about the FF series, and brought in horrible replacements. So in conclusion the only things I liked about the game were 1 No random Battles, 2 Fran and Balthier, and 3 the Huge Worlds/Maps. The rest of the game was bad imo. Not only for Final Fantasy standards but Rpgs as a whole. That is why I'm happy FFXIII is going back to the Roots with the ATB battle system, and an actually story that seems interesting. ANyway I don't want to discuss FFXII, and would much rather get back on topic.

JRPGs can have teenage characters and still have mature stories i.e. Persona 3

BTW, Tidus wasn't whiny, just very cheerful

It doesn't matter. As bad as Tidus was, Vaan was 1000x worse. For different reasons, but still worse.

I played without using them.....the gameplay is much more fun that way....except for cure (cura, curaga) don't use the gambits for anything!
